Cedar Tree Raku Vase
by Anne Webb, 2006
The cedar tree motif definitely has its roots in Art Nouveau, and this vase
is a tribute to Newcomb Pottery.
The design is actually quite remniscent of the view from Anne's old studio
in Canada, before she moved south to the Gulf Coast.
The design was incised
into the clay at the "leatherhard" stage and later glazed using 8
seperate glazes, before it was raku-fired.
