Stylized Ruby Dragonfly Bottle - Raku

Dragonflies are a common sight here by the studio and just about anywhere here on the Gulf Coast. The varieties come in a number of different sizes and an always surprising range of colors, from blue to ruby-purple. This dragonfly motif was inspired by the nature in our neighborhood as well as the spirit of Art Nouveau and Japanese design. The design was incised into the clay when it was "leatherhard" then later glazed using five different colored glazes.
