Unbelievable. You make it look so easy! I've been looking for tutorials that show the difficulties because if I turn up at class believing it's as easy as you make it look I'll come unstuck! (Or the bowl will!) :)

Hey Cyn :)

Yep, just the video setting on the digital camera (I have a Kodak easyshare). I set the camera on a tripod so I can shoot unassisted. Just press the button and go. The only thing you can't do is zoom in mid filming, ie you have to set the zoom in before you start shooting.

So get your camera out and start shooting, girl! :)

I've been eyeing the digital video cams for a long while now, each time I would go into the store. I was relieved to find out, though, that the digital cam I already have will do for now, considering what I am shooting.. no walking around filming and all.

I love this video, Anne! Do you use your camera's movie setting, or do you have a digital video recorder? Our old camcorder is ancient and I'd love a little digital one. My camera does do video too - but I haven't done much with it.

Thanks Brian. Glad you liked the video. :) It is important to learn the fundamentals (including throwing with nothing but your hands) and practice practice practice. Eventually you will be able to throw pretty much any shape of pot unaided you want.

Your hands have a physical memory when throwing (I know that probably sounds strange) If you have developed a bad habit, your hands will go back to the same motion or improper hand position. If you can't throw more than one shape of pot, slow down and think about every motion you are doing.. break it down. You may have an epiphany :)

Happy potting!

Freaking Awesome! (Hey I'm only 28 I can still say "freaking")
I noticed you used a rib, I'm still learning that way. My original and only instructor just used his fingers, which I'm starting to feel it a more advanced tech, since my fingers always make the same shape. :)

Great Vid.
